What Schools Say

Trusted by thousands...

"Just to let you know that the drums arrived yesterday and they are just sooooooo beautiful! I can’t believe how tactile and inviting they are - couldn’t resist a little bash at one of them and was bowled over by at the sound produced by even my tentative taps, so can’t wait to hear 15 children (and one school secretary!?) let loose on them all at once! They’re going to love them!"

Description

A pair of top quality tenor steel pan - chrome double lead 23" , supplied with 2 rubber tipped mallets and solid adjustable and collapsible chrome stands on wheels.

Double lead/tenors are laid out using an arrangement whereby diatonic major scales are played by alternately playing notes from the left and right drums, but chromatic scales require two notes from the left drum followed by two notes from the right drum followed by two notes from the left drum and so on.

Double tenor steel pans are relatively young instruments that have become phenomenally popular in recent years, particularly with school music departments and events organisers. They originated in Trinidad and Tobago in the 1930s and are traditionally recycled from 55 gallon oil and chemical drums.

Tuned in Trinidad by master panmakers Trinipans.

Please note that the pans are supplied with two separate stands (not the single stand shown in the photo).
