Description
The Carved Tik Tok Tone Block is a two-tone wooden block and beater that cuts through classroom noise, helping children keep the beat and play rhythm games in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and SEND music.
For quick, clear rhythm cues, Carved Tik Tok Tone Block cuts through classroom chatter with a bright, focused tick-tock that pupils can hear instantly. The two contrasting tones make it easy to signal changes, mark beats or highlight individual rhythm patterns in whole-class activities.
Materials & build
The block is carved from solid wood, giving a warm, resonant tone and a reassuringly sturdy feel for everyday school use. Its rounded profile sits comfortably in smaller hands, while the included beater is securely attached so it’s less likely to be mislaid between lessons.
Classroom use & progression
In group work it can act as a focus signal, time-keeper or part of a wood block percussion instrument section within ensembles. Use it for call-and-response warm-ups, counting patterns and rhythm games for children, then progress to more complex ostinatos and layered textures as confidence grows. It also appears in Drums for Schools Home Starter and Nursery Rhythm Kits, making it easy to match instruments across your sets.
