Materials & Feel

These junior-size taiko bachi are made of sungkai wood (Peronema canescens) medium-to-large tropical timber tree native to Southeast Asia, highly valued for its durable light-colored wood and traditional medicinal leaves, finished with natural linseed oil to keep the original wood grain and colour. It provide a warm, balanced feel suited to classroom taiko drums and rehearsal instruments. The smooth finish and rounded tips support comfortable grip and reduce fatigue during longer Japanese drumming sessions.

They are built for structured learning and regular school use rather than high-impact stage performance.

Classroom & Ensemble Use

The 37cm taiko drum sticks work well with mid-sized taiko drums and can also support rhythm warm-ups in wider world percussion lessons.
