Description
This gong beater (pangul) is our smallest for the Gongs and is perfect for playing our ‘Gong (Kenong) - Premium - 12in (30cm) diameter’, and it's also included in our ‘Gong Set - 12in (30cm) diameter Gong with Stand and Beater’.
The pangul weighs approx 15og and has a head thickness of between 4cm. It's 27cm long and has a diameter of 6cm.
These are authentic Balinese gong pangul, and are exactly the same as used in Balinese gamelan. It’s very important that the pangul is weighted to match the size and weight of Gong; if the beater is too light, the full resonance of the gong will be lost and, if too heavy, the gong will overload and produce a very weak sound. A well matched beater and Gong will produce a sustained resonance.
