Description
The ‘Gamelan (Gangsa Kantilan) - Premium - Small 10 key’ is a the highest pitched of the 10 key Gangsa instruments that we sell. It has rich, clear tones, is beautifully carved, and is visually arresting to look at. It has quality steel keys and a jackfruit hardwood casing.
There are often four Kantilan in a Gong Kebyar ensemble, two male and two female.
The Pemadé has a range of two octaves, and is played with a wooden mallet. Its highest note is in the region of C7, and it is an octave higher than the ‘Gamelan (Gangsa Pemadé) - Premium - Medium 10 key’. Players often sit on the floor to play this instrument.
