Description
Handcrafted in Ghana using traditional African techniques, the Percussion Plus Honestly Made Xylophone is a beautifully made instrument that brings the rich musical heritage of Africa into the classroom, music room, or home.
Also known as a balafon or balaphone, this traditional percussion instrument features hand-carved wooden keys arranged in sequence on a sturdy wooden frame. Beneath the keys, dried calabash gourds serve as natural resonance chambers, enhancing the sound and creating the balafon’s distinctive warm, resonant tone.
Available in 8-note and 10-note models, each xylophone comes with two beaters, making it ready to play straight away. Every instrument is individually handmade using traditional materials and methods, giving each piece its own unique character.
