Description
This 'Percussion Plus - 5 Hand Chimes Set' is a great starter set, as the chimes cover the notes of a pentatonic scale. The pentatonic scale is a very good one for beginners because there are no sharps or flats, and all the notes sound good if played together.
The hand chimes are tuned to C52, D54, E56, G59 and A61. This is a robust set of hand chimes with replaceable beater assembly.
Although not quite as versatile as the full, diatonic set, there are a lots and lots of well known melodies which employ the simpler pentatonic scale, and so this set can be well used in a simple classroom performance. It's also a great scale for improvisation and jamming because all the notes sound harmonious when played at the same time.
The 5 hand chimes set is great value in comparison to purchasing the chimes individually.
