Product Information

Description

This little bag of 5 Jingle Balls packed with music-making ideas, all designed to get you, friends and family making music together.

The ‘Jingle Ball’ is a hollow wooden ball containing two tiny steel bells that make a musical jingling sound when shaken or rolled about.

The balls are quite tactile - the wood is smooth, natural (and sustainable) mahogany and the carvings give an extra visual and provocative dimension. The designs on this instrument, and others, were created by Balinese primary school children.

These shakers can help with all aspects of EY development, including:

Sensory and/or physical need
- Roll across a circle or from person to person.
- Roll them singly; roll two at a time, roll a whole bunch of them across the circle at the same time to enjoy the fun of  'missing' the other rolling jingle balls.
- Superb for hand-eye co-ordination
Social, emotional and mental health
Lots of socializing activities can be enjoyed with jingle balls rolling games.
Communication and interaction
If used as part of a 'skittles' type game, students can encourage each other to do well and celebrate each time someone aims and succeeds at rolling the jingle ball onto the drum head, for example.
Cognition and learning
Understanding how to aim. Learning about weight and distance.

The ‘Jingle Ball - Perfect for Early Years Music & Play’ can also be found in our ‘Nursery Shaker Kit - 15 instruments’ collection.
