Shamanic

Shamanic drums are frame drums with natural goatskin heads, used for steady pulse, soundscapes and drum circle work in schools and SEND settings. Choose 12–16in for younger players and small rooms, 18–24in for fuller group sound, and 28in for the deepest resonance. Options include natural, painted, and round hair (hair-on) heads; many listings include a two-sided suede/plush beater. For transport and storage, add a Shamanic drum bag (storage bag) and keep a spare Shaman Drum Beater to avoid lesson disruption.

Choose the right size shamanic drum

  • 12–14in: easiest for smaller hands; great for quick turns in circle time and calm listening tasks.
  • 16–18in: a flexible classroom size – clear tone without taking up too much space.
  • 20–24in: fuller low end for group-leading, bigger rooms and outdoor use.
  • 28in: maximum presence for soundscapes, ensemble cues and large-circle work.
