An excellent beginner's resource

 

The articles found below each follow a common format that guides the reader on a short journey, explaining the more immediate cultural aspects of the music style, a guide to the common instruments used and then onto the basics of performance and sight reading one of the accepted notation systems common to the genre.

This is an excellent starting point for the novice, a good general resource for experienced teachers who are brushing up, and also a useful tool for support staff who wish to know more about a subject area in order to support their students better.
