At Drums for Schools our priority has always been getting everyone actively engaged in music making and we’ve learned a thing or two about making instruments accessible and easy to play.
SEN resources needn’t be costly or technically difficult. Our SEN range is suitable for 3+ years (developmental age) and all abilities and is designed to get everyone actively engaged, first making and controlling sounds and then making music together.
Our SEN kits and instruments are affordable, inclusive and accessible and because they come with clearly written teaching support and access to our experts, any practitioner or parent can start making a difference right away: enabling, empowering and having fun together.
We also prioritise natural materials and so you’ll find our instruments naturally tactile and easy on the ear.

Testimonial from Lesley Schatzberger, Founder, Jessie’s Fund
“Drums for Schools has developed a wide range of excellent musical instruments suitable for both mainstream schools and those for children with special needs. By developing direct relationships with the craftsmen who make them they have been able to offer the instruments at very affordable prices – somewhat below their competitors. In these days of cutbacks that can mean the difference between giving children the opportunity to play musical instruments and denying them that opportunity. “
The company is keen to get feedback, encouraging constructive criticism of products where appropriate and acting upon it in order to improve their service and develop exactly what their customers require. Most of the materials used in the instruments are natural or recycled, thus contributing to care for the environment.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Drums for Schools as an innovative and caring supplier of educational musical instruments.”
Jessie’s Fund is a UK charity helping seriously ill and disabled children by using music for communication and for therapy. We work with children in hospices and in other settings nationwide, providing a wide range of musical instruments and giving the children access to music-making and to music therapy. Our Soundtracks programme takes us into schools for children with special needs, where our creative workshops and staff training allow children the opportunity to develop through music.
